Putting Northerners First

Politics, like life, is all about priorities. In an ideal world we'd all get everything we wanted right away. But reality forces us to pick and choose. Prioritizing the essentials over the luxuries is something most of us learn in childhood.
Unfortunately that lesson was skipped by past Ontario governments.
Too often provincial politicians put getting elected ahead of making Ontario better. We could list examples going back decades but, rather than browbeat past governmental failures, we'd prefer to offer our vision for a better, more prosperous Northern Ontario.
And make no mistake, Northern Ontario is our focus. Heck, it's right there in our name: Northern Ontario Party.
So what are our priorities for the north? We'd like to build opportunities for growth. Great idea, right? But how?
The NOP would start with tax breaks and government subsidies to encourage businesses to locate in our region. Promoting value-added industries and assisting companies that are looking to expand is on our agenda. As is creating incentives for young people to remain in the north.
We're all about Northern Ontario's future—a future that we believe could be bright…if we just let Northerners have their fair say.
There are a lot of big problems facing Ontario. Open any newspaper and you'll see headlines ranging from "Hydro Prices Skyrocket" to "Hospitals Overflow". A dozen other significant crises plague our province—some new and many old—and yet our governments' react in the same tired fashion. More studies, more bureaucracy, more money…more, more, more!
The NOP wants to try something new, something different, something specific to our region. Northern Ontario solutions to Northern Ontario problems.
We won't promise to fix the province. Those grandiose political pledges are what got Ontario in trouble. Instead we will work with Northerners to make life better. Together we can make a difference. Together Northern Ontario can take control of its future.
But "together" requires your help. Join us. Vote NOP.
